Meet Our Physical Therapists

The team of physical therapists at Core Physical Therapy bring more than experience to patients who need physical therapy services. They also possess a drive to help each patient reach their therapy goals and a passion for making sure each patient receives the highest level of care. Get to know the team that serves patients at both our West Des Moines and Adel locations.

Blake Hardy is a partner in Core Physical Therapy, Inc. He began practicing as a physical therapist in 1995. His educational background includes a BA in Biomedical Sciences from St. Cloud State University in 1993, an MS in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University in 1995, and a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2005. Blake has obtained additional board certification as a certified orthopedic specialist, OCS. Blake has taken extensive continuing education in the areas of manual therapy and treatment of the spine. In addition to work activities, Blake has been involved in the Iowa Physical Therapy Association, holding various positions, which culminated in being President from 2009 to 2011. For his service to the organization, he was awarded the association's highest honor, the Olive Farr Distinguished Service Award, in 2012. Outside of work Blake enjoys spending time with his family, working outside, and Drake Bulldog football.

Kerri graduated from Indiana State University in 1992 and obtained her Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University in 1995. She completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy through Des Moines University in 2005. Kerri enjoys working with a variety of patients. Though she continues to enjoy working with orthopedic patients, she also has received extensive training in pelvic floor rehabilitation through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. This has allowed her to expand her practice into helping women, men and children with pelvic pain and dysfunction which has been very rewarding. Kerri enjoys spending time with her family, following her children's sports and school activities, and participating in church activities.

Ellen completed her undergraduate coursework at the University of Nebraska - Omaha in 2009. There she earned her Bachelors in General Studies, graduated Summa Cum Laude and played basketball for the Mavericks. Ellen most recently attended Des Moines University where she graduated with distinction from the 2012 Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. In her free time, Ellen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, golfing, fishing, boating and water skiing.

Lindsay is a partner in Core Physical Therapy, Inc. and is also a practicing physical therapist. She graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science in 2001; and a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa in 2003. Lindsay is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. She has training in Myofascial Release, muscle energy technique, visceral mobilization, and Craniosacral therapy. Lindsay enjoys spending time with her family, reading, baking and traveling.

Mike is a partner in Core Physical Therapy, Inc. and is also a practicing physical therapist. He went to Wartburg College and graduated in 1999 with a major in biology and minor in athletic training. He then went to Des Moines University Physical Therapy School where he graduated with his Masters Degree in 2001. In 2011 he returned to school and received his DPT through Evidence in Motion's Executive Program. Mike enjoys time with his family, golfing and following Hawkeye athletics.

Jodi graduated from Buena Vista University in 1998 Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She was named Biology student of the year her senior year. She then attended Des Moines University where she graduated with distinction with a Master's degree in 2000. Since then, she has spent time working in acute, skilled, and outpatient therapy-- where she has spent the majority of her training and practice. In her free time, Jodi enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, reading, singing, exercising and doing anything outdoors.

Alicia grew up in Adel and completed her undergraduate coursework at Central College-Pella, Iowa in 2007. There she earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in Exercise Science: Health Promotion, graduated Summa Cum Laude, and participated in Volleyball, and Track & Field for the Dutch. Alicia most recently attended Des Moines University where she graduated from the 2013 Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Alicia is currently working on her Masters in Health Care Administration from Des Moines University and in her free time enjoys spending time with her family, watching and participating in sporting events, and being outdoors.

Justin grew up in Denison, IA and received his BA degree in Exercise Science at Central College-Pella, Iowa in 2008. He was also a 4-year member of the Dutch tennis team, and was MVP in his senior year. Justin then went to Iowa State University where he completed a MS degree in Kinesiology and graduated in 2010. He continued his educational journey to Des Moines University where he graduated in 2014 from the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. In his free time, Justin enjoys spending time working and playing outdoors with family and friends, playing golf, and following Iowa Hawkeye athletics, particularly football.

Kirsten is formerly from Ottumwa, IA and graduated from Eddyville-Blakesburg High School in 2008. From there she traveled to Storm Lake, IA where she attended Buena Vista University and received her Bachelor of Science while majoring in Biology. Kirsten was a 4-year member of the BVU volleyball team and graduated Cum Laude from Buena Vista University in 2012. She most recently attended Des Moines University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and graduated in 2015 with her DPT. In her free time, Kirsten enjoys biking, fishing, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Jenna grew up in the southwest suburb of Chicago called New Lenox, Illinois. She followed in her parents’ footsteps and attended the University of Northern Iowa, where she received her BA in Movement and Exercise Science in 2013. She was also a 5 year member of the UNI track team where she competed in the pole vault. After graduating with her undergraduate degree, Jenna continued to follow her passion for education to Des Moines University where she received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2016. In addition to her orthopedic skills, Jenna has extensive training in the care and treatment of vestibular pathologies. These skills allow her to help those suffering from dizziness, vertigo, and other vestibular impairments. In her free time, Jenna enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running, golfing, and reading.

Mary Beth Wims is originally from Knoxville, Iowa. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Truman State University with a BS in Health Science in 2006. Following graduation, Mary Beth worked in clinical trial administration for the Carbone Cancer Center at the University of Wisconsin and later taught English as a Foreign Language in Gwangju, South Korea. After returning to school to pursue a career combining her interests in wellness, movement, and teaching, she graduated from Des Moines University with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2017. Mary Beth likes yoga, biking, travel, and cooking.
