Employee Spotlight: Alicia Fisher

Alicia grew up in Adel, Iowa, conveniently located in the same town as one of our CORE PT locations! While growing up, she was involved in multiple sports, which was what initially sparked her interest in the healthcare field. As a multi-sport athlete, she encountered her fair share of injuries. These injuries required rehabilitation with an athletic training staff and local physical therapists to regain the ability to participate at her best. While she was overcoming these injuries, she found that she had a particular interest in physical therapy.

Alicia began her physical therapy career a few years ago in a nursing home. After her experience in senior care, Alicia decided to make the shift to an outpatient setting. Thus, she began her journey at CORE PT in September of 2013 and has loved her job ever since. Prior to these career moves, Alicia completed her undergraduate coursework at Central College in Pella, IA in 2007. There she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science: Health Promotion, graduated Summa Cum Laude and participated in Volleyball and Track & Field for the Dutch. She then went on to Des Moines University where she graduated from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2013.

Alicia currently resides in Adel with her husband and one-year-old son, who keeps them on their toes! She is excited to be in her hometown doing what she loves with the people she loves and is thankful for the opportunity to be back in the community and making more connections. In Alicia’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching and participating in sporting events and being outdoors. Learn more about Alicia below and feel free to stop into Core Physical Therapy to tell this Adel native hello!
