What to Expect From Our 1:1 Treatment

If you’re like most people, you’ve had a negative experience in the healthcare system due to the personal or impersonal treatment of healthcare providers. We believe that in order for you to truly see results in your treatment, it is vital to have individual attention with your physical therapist. If you’re new to Core PT, here’s what you can expect from us.

Why is 1:1 Treatment Important?

You are likely going to be needing treatment over the course of weeks, or months for some. You are putting the time and trust into what therapy can do for you. It makes sense to us that we want this to be the best experience possible. We believe that the more we get to know our patients, the better we are able to prescribe a treatment plan that helps you to achieve your goals. As you build a rapport with your therapist, you are going to enjoy therapy. If you are having a difficult week, you are going to feel more supported because you have an expert who not only cares but knows you.

The Appointment

If this 1:1 thing is new to you, here’s a general overview of how an appointment would go. After taking care of the necessary paperwork, you will meet your therapist. They will conduct a thorough evaluation. Then, they will talk with you about what you are hoping to gain out of therapy in terms of big-picture goals and physical abilities. All of this will be done in a private room, where you can feel comfortable being yourself with the PT. The physical therapist will then create your plan based off of what they saw and heard from you during the first appointment."

Just think how different this experience may be if they only did a quick evaluation without ever getting to know you and your goals? You may not feel as confident about the treatments and struggle with the motivation to make it to your appointments. The goal is for you to feel comfortable and confident in your appointments. After your first appointment, you will continually experience hands-on techniques from your physical therapist and be given at-home exercises for days when you don’t have an appointment.

If you’re looking for professional 1:1 treatment with a board-certified physical therapist, contact us today. In the state of Iowa, most insurance companies don’t require that you have a doctor’s note to see a physical therapist, so feel free to
