Mary Beth Wims is an Iowa native who has been practicing at Core since 2017. Mary Beth earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Des Moines University after earlier careers in both healthcare administration and teaching English as a Foreign Language. Mary Beth has completed coursework in craniosacral therapy at Michigan State University as well as multiple classes in myofascial release and visceral mobilization. She studied somatic yoga with Yoga North in Duluth and is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. She currently serves as Chair of the Southwest District of the Iowa Physical Therapy Association.
A firm believer in the adage “movement is medicine,” her favorite parts of being a physical therapist are getting to know her patients and helping them discover empowering tools and strategies to take care of their health. She and her husband Jake make their home in Beaverdale and seem to spend their free time and money on their 90+ year-old home. Outside of work, Mary Beth likes to keep moving, whether on her bike, her feet, or her yoga mat. She makes a decent sourdough and is working on growing her gardening skills.
