This blog post was written by Jordan Wachter, a Core Physical Therapy PT.

With Christmas around the corner and New Year’s just beyond that, we’re in the season of gift-giving and resolution goal setting. If you need an idea for a gift to give someone, or you’re looking to take some new steps towards your health and wellness this next year, read on to learn more about some of our favorite products here at Core! Scroll all the way to the bottom to get links to everything you can buy online.

Foam Roller

Foam rollers are a great warm-up tool. They help relax muscles and fascia, getting you ready for your workout. But foam rollers aren’t just reserved for workouts. Foam rollers can also be great for addressing back stiffness and massaging sore muscle that would otherwise be hard to reach. It’s a simple but effective tool!

Yoga Strap

The yoga strap is a great tool to assist with a stretch routine. Sometimes getting a stretch can be tiring because you have to work hard just to set up a stretch or get in position. This helps relieve you of that work, makes it easier to get positioned, and has multiple loops within the band, allowing for easy adjustments specific to you.

Exercise Ball

The exercise ball, like many items on this list, is a versatile piece of equipment. It can help challenge stability, improve core strength, and aid in pregnancy exercises. They come in various sizes depending on your height, so pay attention to the size when ordering so you select the right size for you.

Balance Pad

Are you worried about your balance? The balance pad can be a great tool to help improve that. The foam makes for an uneven surface, simulating surfaces in everyday life that can be tricky to navigate. Standing on this is like a workout for your balance systems. There are many exercises that can be done on this piece of equipment. You can even schedule a Whole Health session with our therapists to learn what would be best for you.

Lacrosse Balls

If you want a tool that gives a more specific massage than the foam roller, the lacrosse ball is for you. Firmer than a tennis ball, a lacrosse ball can get harder to reach spots. And the rubber material prevents the ball from slipping while in use. It really comes in handy when massaging the bottom of feet, a common treatment for plantar fasciitis.

Ankle Brace

If you’re prone to ankle sprains, an ankle brace is a great tool to use during higher level activities to help prevent injury. Generally speaking, going without an ankle brace during everyday activity is best so that the ankle muscles and ligaments don’t become dependent on the brace, but having the extra support when needed during higher level activity can help make sure you aren’t sidelined with an injury.

Still Point Inducer

Many of our patients have experienced the benefits of craniosacral therapy. A Still Point Inducer can be a helpful tool to use at home when therapy ends or when you’re on the go to help reduce stress and tension in the body.

There are also several books on our website as well, covering topics like chronic pain and breathing. If you want to learn more about each product, follow this link to our webpage:
